Our Junior Base Development (JDB) improves athleticism to support the physical demands of sport as kids grow into teens. The JDB helps 10 -16 yr old athletes of all levels, bulletproof their weaknesses, decrease injury risk, and build strength, power and speed to set them up for long-term success. This program is one of only a few complete junior athlete development programs in Western Sydney.

 ASSESSMENT & TESTING

The comprehensive performance testing we do with all our aspiring athletes will help create a PlayBook that sets them up for long-term success. By the end of the testing session, we will know exactly what the athlete needs to become more athletic for their sport. As they say "What doesn't get measured doesn't get improved"

MOVEMENT QUALITY FOR COORDINATION & EFFICIENCY

When junior athletes move well, they are already have the advantage. We have a quality over quantity approach. The athlete that is more balanced, coordinated and efficient mover will dominate their competition. Because once we lay the foundations of movement quality and build out their movement library. This is how we build athleticism.

STRENGTH FOR RESILLIENCE & INJURY REDUCTION

A head coach said to me once "that the best ability is availability". Strength underpins everything we do, it is the foundation of which we build upon. Strength also protects adolescents from injury and builds a strong robust athlete. Because as we know weak things break, and no athlete likes sitting on the sideline watching their team compete.

JUMPING & PLYOMETRICS FOR POWER & FORCE DEVELOPMENT

Most adolescents lack ability or knowledge to produce force quickly. High velocity options such as Plyometrics, jumping, throwing and ballistic movements are a great way to increase this quality. Being an explosive athlete is something that needs to be taught, we implement this with our systemised velocity block. We coach them to land and control deceleration mechanics before we let them fly.

SPRINT & AGILITY TRAINING FOR ATHLETICISM

Most junior athletes are never taught how to run — it’s just something they do. There is an old saying "You don't know what you don't know". So every quality we have spoken about above is geared and making them faster in the field of play to break the game open. While genetics are set and we can't change them what we can do is improve upon their running mechanics and make them a more efficient runner.
